Job Description

Our customer is establishing a new facility to fulfill their internal manufacturing requirements. The location is a prestige location adjacent to the Schiphol International Airport. The facility is being equipped with the latest automation technologies. There is plenty of scope of entrepreneurial people to think outside the box and leave their mark on what both our customer & syncreon intend will become a world class, flagship site - a future centre of excellence & innovation.

Guided by Customer Service, the Quality Manager and the Global Trade Compliance Manager, you will create ultimate synergy at syncreon.

Operational excellence: ensuring high quality and compliance

To serve our customers, we have to maintain thorough industry knowledge and expertise. As a Trade Compliance Associate, you'll be responsible for the fulfilment of IATA/DG documents and declarations on all transactions, and for managing the certifications for staff on site. Your aim? Ensuring operational compliance with Dutch national, EU and USA legal and fiscal regulations on incoming and outgoing stock movements.

High quality is crucial for launching operational excellence; we need you to set up and maintain a quality system for internal and external purposes. In addition, you will be supporting the creation and retrieval of Commercial Invoices for international shipments.

You will be responsible for:
  • Monitoring our compliance with the required regulations and driving the implementation of corrective actions if nonconformities are identified;
  • Coordinating regular audits by internal and external parties according to MSA and SOW;
  • Staying up-to-date with changes to relevant regulations and ensuring management is alerted to these changes;
  • Maintaining contact with and transferring knowledge to other parties and organizations, including customs/tax authorities and governmental bodies, auditors, the customer and on-site manufacturer, transport vendors and Security;
  • Assisting and advising Operations & Customer Services with customs clearances

Our ideal results-orientated associate:
  • holds a higher education degree and has a minimum of 2 years' experience working in customs compliance or another trade compliance role;
  • is familiar with national, EU and USA customs and tax regulations;
  • is proficient in MS Office and other computerized customs systems, and knows how to efficiently perform compliance risk analysis;
  • knows how to review customs compliance and can effectively negotiate with customs and tax authorities;
  • preferably holds an IATA/DG certificate or is willing to undertake certification.
